Across our platforms, we reach over 800,000 followers on Ireland Before You Die and over 1 million followers on Meanwhile in Ireland, with strong, consistent website traffic and highly engaged social audiences. Many of our articles continue to generate traffic long after publication, particularly when shared across our channels.

This role is best suited to someone who wants to build a long-term career in writing, have their work read by millions of people, and learn from an experienced editorial and digital team with over 10 years of industry experience.

The Role

We’re looking for a writer who can produce short, engaging articles that perform well online and appeal directly to our audience.

Topics may include:

• Light news stories

• Fun social media roundups

• Viral trends

• Listicles

• Irish trivia and culture

• Content designed to spark curiosity, conversation, or a laugh

Writers upload articles directly into our CMS as drafts. All content is reviewed by our editorial team before publication and shared across our social media channels.

What We’re Looking For

• • Excellent written English and strong attention to detail

  • Clear, concise, conversational writing style

  • Strong awareness of what works on social media

  • Genuine interest in Irish culture, humour, or travel

  • A writer who wants to develop their skills and build a career, not just submit one-off pieces

  • Ability to meet weekly content targets and take feedback on board

Job Duties

• Write at least two short articles per week (approx. 450–750 words)

• Upload articles as drafts to our content system for editorial review

• Apply feedback to improve performance over time

• Full training provided on our systems, tone, and performance-led approach

How Payment Works

This is a commission-only, performance-based role.

• Writers receive a 50/50 split of article income generated in the 30 days after publication

• All earnings and performance data are fully transparent

• You’ll have clear visibility on how your articles perform

• High-performing or viral articles can generate thousands of pounds per month, which is split directly with you

• Full details and examples will be shared during the application process
