Emerald Green Media: 10 videos we’re proud of in 2025

Whether it was a pub corner, a hotel lobby, a bustling market, or a wall with a story, we captured it. These are the videos that made an impact.

What a year. Cameras in hand, we’ve been in pubs, markets, and city streets; on boats, back roads, and tucked away forest resorts. Some days it was burgers in Derry, other days it was a history lesson in Derry’s Bogside. Along the way, our videos reached millions through Ireland Before You Die and Meanwhile in Ireland.

These are ten projects that stood out for us – each one different, each one teaching us something new about how people connect with stories online.

This one hit Meanwhile in Ireland and quickly spread. We stopped Glaswegians at random and asked what they really thought of the Irish. Some answers were warm, others blunt, plenty hilarious. The charm of these street interviews is the unpredictability – you can’t script it, and that’s why people watch.

Stevie Haughey on the streets of Belfast.

For Ireland Before You Die, we wandered through Belfast city centre. Tourists and locals alike gave us a mix of banter, honesty, and a few curveballs. Characters like pub legend John Bittles and entertainer Jelvis Pelvis brought the colour. Belfast never disappoints when it comes to personalities.

This time, the spotlight was on Notorious Street Food at Clipper Quay. Burgers stacked high, loaded fries, and a founder – Caolan McCourt – who told us how he built the place. Food features on Ireland Before You Die always travel far online, but it’s the people behind the counter who make them stick.

In Fermanagh, we filmed Finn Lough’s bubble domes and spa trail for Ireland Before You Die. Mist hanging over the lough, fires crackling, plates of food arriving under fairy lights – the place already feels like something out of a film. Capturing that atmosphere was a joy.

Stevie Haughey interviewing Liam Robinson in London.

Our Christmas project with Bittles Bar in Belfast turned into one of the year’s biggest surprises. Shot on a tight budget and shared on Ireland Before You Die, it garnered 250,000 organic views and even won an award at the UK Content & PR Awards. A reminder that a good idea – and a good pint – can carry itself.

Stevie Haughey interviewing a man who became a famous Derry Mural.

One of the more moving shoots of the year. For Ireland Before You Die, we spoke to the man immortalised in Derry’s “Rioter” mural. He told his story with raw honesty. The result was less about a painting on a wall, more the tragedy of conflict, memory, and community.

Stevie Haughey interviewing Bernie from Bob Stewart’s in Drumbeg.

Robert Stewart’s in Drumbeg gave us history, atmosphere, and even a ghost story to play with. The Ireland Before You Die feature showed why pubs aren’t just for drinking – they’re cultural touchstones, full of stories waiting to be told.

Stevie Haughey interviewing General Manager Chris Lockhart at the Hillyard House Hotel.

Castlewellan’s Hillyard House was the focus here. For Ireland Before You Die, we pieced together a complete picture of the place – comfy rooms, hearty food, staff who clearly love what they do. A film like this doesn’t just sit online for a week; it continues to work for the business for years.

Stevie Haughey interviewing Paul Harkin at Prize Guy HQ.

Paul Harkin, founder of That Prize Guy, sat down with us for Meanwhile in Ireland. His story – from giveaways to running one of Ireland’s biggest competition brands – made for a cracking interview. It showed again that the people behind the logo are what audiences really want to see.

Stevie Haughey interviewing Michael Stewart outside Common Market.

Common Market Belfast brought us food from two vendors – Sicarios and Pie Eyed – plus a chat with the market’s owner, Michael Stewart. The noise, the smells, the banter with the chefs: all of it came across in the video for Ireland Before You Die. These are the kind of shoots that remind us why food and community go hand in hand.
